Our community lost an amazing person this week as Doug Perret unexpectedly passed away.
Doug was the assistant UIC for the West Region and the UIC for the West Region Little League Softball tournament in San Bernardino.
I had the honor of instructing with Doug this month at the outreach clinic here in Seattle. In that clinic, I watched Doug connect with students and instructors alike, making every one of us better. Students got the benefit of Doug’s patient, and usually blunt, feedback. Instructors got to see a master teacher in action. Doug had a way of understanding how to reach each person on their own terms, and we all benefited from his guidance.
Doug, it was an honor and a privilege. You will be missed.
